Boogát dresses Montreal in the bright colours of Central America and heats up the atmosphere. MC? Traditional musician? From his couplets to his chiselled flow, with its Latin rhythmed refrains, Daniel Russo Garrido extracts the best from his cultural heritage. Born of Paraguayan and Mexican parents in Quebec, and now a citizen of Montreal, he expands his world beat with cumbia, reggaeton and salsa in order to infuse it with a fiery groove, without forgetting a few choice elements of bass music and nineties hip-hop. On stage, his sounds come over as impetuous, moving, dancing, with all the exhilaration of a barefoot race on burning sands.
