  • Electronic incantations

Singing and drumming are often needed to invoke divine intervention. But Ìfé pray to the sound of electro. Hardly surprising when you know that the instigator of this project, Otura Mun, is not only a producer and musician but also a babalawo - priest of the Yoruba religion, Ifá. For the Porto Rican collective, dance is a means of entering into contact with the most powerful gods. Hypnotic, Ìfé’s music is also very danceable: a layer of electronic sound providing the perfect background for Cuban rumba, sacred Yoruba songs, Jamaican dance hall and even American R’n’B. So just let yourself go to their sounds - serene, and dreamlike, erotic and raw.
