• Iceland
  • Geothermic blues rock

One the one hand you have Iceland and its 300,000 inhabitants; on the other, the United States, the country of the outsize. And in between the two, you find Kaleo. These four childhood friends, all originally from the outskirts of Reykjavik, packed their bags and headed for Texas. Between rock, folk and blues, they seek their inspiration as much in the mystic atmosphere of the fjords as in the sweaty heat of the deserts. A/B, their first album, illustrates their duality: their hearts beat alternately between racy tracks and gracious ballads. But this record would need more than two sides to illustrate the group’s virtuosity, as they juggle with gritty riffs, the Northern Lights and the Austin dust.
