- Folk-pop of wide open spaces
With her unique timbre and her delicately sulky voice, Yael is capable of all sorts of vocal prowess. After a chance meeting with Gil one evening, they founded Lola Marsh, one of the folk-pop revelations of the past few years. Listening to their travel ballads, one could well imagine Lana Del Rey, Sufjan Stevens and The Dø leaning against the bar in a pub, with the compositions of Sergio Leone as background music. First recorded in roots style in Gil’s apartment, the duo’s first tracks were reworked in the Anova label studios, the coolest in Israel. As they set out to conquer the world, Lola Marsh will be stopping off this summer at Paléo.
