Lysistrata

  • France
  • New mythology noise math post rock

Lysistrata first evokes the emblematic play by Aristophanes, a forerunner of Lennon's pacifism typified by the legendary ‘bed-ins for peace’, but with a proposal on a model closer to bed-out for peace. In other words, the story of a woman who goes on a general sex strike to stop men from going to war. Yes sir. If they are inspired by this legendary snook-cocking, on stage, the band are nevertheless as much strategists and warriors as Athena. With their angry rock navigating between noise, math, post rock, even hardcore, the three chums preach sonic freedom and letting go. A bust-up, nothing less.
