- Classy exploration of the accordion
Let it be said, Mario Batkovic is a real specimen. It is difficult to stick a label on this maestro of the accordion, as his music travels between poetic prowess and technical performance. Like a Philip Glass or a Nils Frahm, he creates a perfect bridge between baroque and contemporary experimental music. Exploring the limits of his totemic instrument, his dark, sober and penetrating art is transformed into a haunting cinematic soundtrack. An enchantment that producer Geoff Barrow (Portishead) could not resist, signing the artist on his label Invada. And so the Batkovic myth was born.
