This female South African rapper, born in a popular neighbourhood of Cape Town, already has a pretty full CV. She used to be part of Godessa, a female hip-hop trio, before starting to write and produce her own stuff in 2001. But it wasn’t until 2008 that she released “Method In The Madness”, a melodious mixture of funk, rock, dancehall and hip-hop on which she imposes her committed passionaria’s supple flow, as music rhymes with commitment. An ardent defender of human rights, EJ shows her devotion to her work when she grabs the micro and delivers her inflamed lyrics.
