Iggy and the Stooges
The Stooges first saw the light of day in a small town near Detroit in 1967 and boasted the combined talents of Iggy, the Ashton brothers and Dave Alexander. For seven hard-hitting years, marked by unforgettable hits like “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, the group laid the foundations for garage rock and then punk before disappearing in 1974, just as the ‘no-future’ genre was getting going. Iggy Pop went on to pursue his own brilliant solo career, collaborating with a multitude of prestigious artists before reforming the group in 2003. In spite of a few grey hairs and the disappearance of Ron Ashton in 2009, the group has lost none of its legendary energy. Yeah!
