Ubuhle be Afrika

South Africa

In the Xhosa language, Ubuhle be Afrika means “Beauty of Africa”. This collective, created in 2001 in the townships of Nelson Mandela Bay, in Port Elizabeth, set out to enhance and develop the cultural and artistic life of this region of Southern Africa. As well as education, training and social work, UBA also propose highly colourful shows to be watched, listened and danced to, and which display all the incredible wealth of their artistic heritage. Drawing from their ancient African roots, they set traditional dancing to tribal rhythms (zulu, gumboot, xhosa, tswana). Quite a change of scenery.
