Yumuri y Sus Hermanos
Cuba
Village du Monde
Moisé "Yumuri" Valle is Cuban, and one of the most interesting of the island’s contemporary singers. After starting out with the Orquesta Revé (he also sang with Cubanismo), he began a solo career in the 1990’s, accompanied by three of his brothers, who are also musicians (the fourth is the flautist Orlando "Maraca" Valle, to whom we owe some of his arrangements). Five son albums later, and he’s still topping the Cuban charts with his inimitable style and his little airs of Oscar d’Leon in certain of his phrasings and the timbre of his voice. Muy caliente!
