- Furious soul passion
Soul Power! With his first album, Curtis Harding left little room for mystery. He was born into soul music and has never stopped developing it. But to reduce the man who calls his music "slop'n'soul" to a single musical style alone would be a mistake. Slop – or "leftovers" in Southern USA slang – is a sure reminder of his tireless curiosity, which takes him from hip-hop to rock. Son of a gospel singer, he grew up on the roads of the United States, following in the footsteps of the greats, notably Otis Redding and B.B. King. With Face Your Fear, he makes a frontal assault with this furious soul with its vintage flavour and accents of nervy rhythm'n'blues. Stratocaster in hand, he is determined to summon up the legends of soul.
