2005

After a spectacular prelude in the town centre of Nyon, the 30th edition turned out to be one of the most successful in the history of the Festival. The décor, strongly influenced by the work submitted by the students from the various sections of the Geneva based HES-SO (High Schools of Western Switzerland), the pyrotechnic installations of the Cie Carabosse and the lighting installations of Romandie Energie, helped create a truly magical atmosphere. On stage, eclecticism was the byword with line-ups as different and as successful as Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anouska, Lenny Kravitz, Jamiroquai, Calogero, Faithless, Franz Ferdinand, Jamie Cullum and the very impressive show by Rammstein. Some highly emotional moments of discovery were enjoyed during the concerts by Sigur Rós, Juliette, Feist and Babylon Circus. The Village du Monde, bearing the colours of Asia, scored another popular success with the likes of artists such as Mercan Dede, Pascal Of Bollywood and TBT'Cham.
