Paléo welcomes Médecins Sans Frontières and Aquaverde

Every year the Festival joins forces with two charitable partners who share the same values as Paléo. For this 2023 edition, we are delighted to welcome Médecins Sans Frontières and Aquaverde!

From its earliest days, Paléo has always been keen to invite humanitarian, environmental, cultural and social organisations to present their activities at the festival. For over 10 years now, we've been working with two 'partner' charities for each edition of the festival.

The first, called the "Festival's Charity Partner", stands out for its strong or topical actions. In 2023, to mark the organisation's 50th anniversary, we wanted to highlight Médecins Sans Frontières.

MSF provides medical assistance to people facing life-threatening crises, regardless of their ethnic origin, religion or political beliefs. The organisation's interventions are based on medical ethics and the principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

The second, known as the "Village du Monde Charity Partner", is an association working in the region of the world featured in the Festival’s current edition. This year, the celebrated region is Brazil. Aquaverde will be presenting its activities, following an initial invitation back in 2011. Through the sponsorships for the planting of one or more trees financed by companies, institutions and individuals, Aquaverde makes a financial contribution to reforestation and eco-responsibility programmes by indigenous peoples. These reforestation projects, planned and carried out by the indigenous people themselves, ensure the survival of their culture and safeguard their natural heritage.

As part of its partnership with Aquaverde, Paléo is delighted to welcome Txai Surui, a leading environmental activist, and her family for the duration of the Festival.

"Aquaverde is working to prevent deforestation in the Amazon. It's a very topical issue and a real concern for the environment in that part of the world, but one that also affects us." - Daniel Rossellat

Would you like to get involved in some small way?

You can support Médecins Sans Frontières and the Fondation Equiléo, which aims to support community, cultural and social projects in the Nyon district, by donating your returnable tableware to the return points on site!

In 2022, this action enabled Paléo to donate the sum of 10’000 Swiss francs to the Sunflower and Equiléo associations ! This year, the Aquaverde association will receive a percentage of the proceeds from the Bar de l'Escale in the Village du Monde.
