Traditional music

Hialøsa play music from a place that doesn’t quite exist: Scania, the southern region of Sweden that once belonged to Denmark. Three musicians, two fiddles, a double bass, feet stamping the floor, and voices singing in Scanian, a threatened language that feels very much alive in their hands. Their “Scanian Very Old Pop” draws on old dance tunes and inherited songs from the past, making them resonate with today’s energy. Blending memory, resistance, and an almost punk-like drive, Hialøsa turn tradition into a living, breathing modernity.
