Inside a life-sized birdcage, the hairdresser waits. No scissors, secateurs. No blow-dry, but feathers, ribbons, flowers and utterly outlandish accessories. Within minutes, passers-by emerge as marchionesses, their hair piled into dizzying pyramids. These ephemeral creations then drift back into the crowd like living paintings, extending the show long after the performance has ended.
