Roni Size is one of the artists who reshaped the sound of the United Kingdom. From his home city of Bristol, he helped forge jungle and later drum’n’bass, infusing them with dub-heavy basslines, reggae heritage, and masterful breakbeat craft. With his collective, Reprazent, he pushed the genre beyond the club scene and won the 1997 Mercury Prize with New Forms, now considered a classic.
