SOUND LEVEL :

Swiss regulations limit amplified sound to 100 dBA Leq over 60 minutes at the audience’s most exposed point.

The sound level will be measured during all shows using sound meters compliant with IEC 651 and IEC 804 norms.

The Artist and their team, including the sound engineer, shall respect this law and will be held responsible for any intentional violation of it.

Paleo Festival is taking care of the frequency management and coordination for frequency range 470MHz to 865 MHz.

All used frequencies must be announced and validated by the festival.

You'll receive the frequency plan during your setup onsite if they've been announced in advance. Otherwise, they will be calculated during your installation. To save time, we recommend announcing your requests in advance. The calculation may take some time, during which all transmitters must remain switched off.

Use of SPECTERA:

Please be aware that a limited amount of Spectera System can be used at the same time due to a very large quantity of wireless frequencies. We may ask you to turn off your system outside your presence on stage.

Backline is available upon request and subject to availability.

Not provided by the Festival: guitars, bass guitars and small effects pedals.

Special requests will be handled case by case and may incur additional costs for the Artist.

Artists bringing their own equipment (consoles, backline, risers, etc.) will unload in coordination with the Festival Venue Manager, who will provide a team of qualified stagehands.

The festival does not provide pyrotechnics, lasers, or other special effects.

Flames: 

Flame effects must be declared at least three weeks (21 days) before the start of the festival, along with a rider specifying the equipment used, the type of fuel, and the exact positions on stage.
The use of flames requires the presence of an on‑site firefighter, which must be scheduled accordingly.

Powder effects:

Powder‑based effects must be declared at least one month before the festival. An import permit is required for the materials, and it is mandatory to work with an external licensed supplier. This process can take time. The presence of a Swiss licensed pyrotechnician holding a valid federal certification authorizing stage pyrotechnic effects (powder effects) is mandatory. All costs are at the Artist’s charge. 

Lasers: 

Laser effects must be declared at least three weeks before the festival. Projecting lasers into the audience is strictly prohibited. A Swiss laser safety supervisor must be present, and a formal declaration to the federal authorities is required. These costs are the responsibility of the artist. Additionally, the festival site is located in the approach axis of Geneva Airport, which restricts certain types of laser usage.

Confetti:

As the Festival is located near a natural reserve, confetti can only be approved if biodegradable and if there is no wind on show day. In general, we prefer to avoid confetti.

The Venue Manager may prohibit confetti release until the start of the performance.

Other effects:

All other special effects must be declared at least one month before the festival so they can be reviewed and approved on a case‑by‑case basis.
