Bob Marley fans can rest easy: their idol’s legacy is alive and well! Kabaka Pyramid is proof of this, to the point of being endorsed by Damian, Marley’s son. But it would be simplistic to see the singer as a mere copycat. Shaggy’s Mr Boombastic was played over and over again during his childhood and may well have inspired his hip-hop and dancehall leanings. The result is filled with sun and warmth and true to the promise of reggae, i.e. lifting souls into the light!
