Rumba, flamenco, and chaabi... Nedjim Bouizzou, the group’s leader, describes himself as a self-taught street musician, constantly on the lookout for sonic fusions, but always linked to his native Algeria. A seasoned globetrotter, his songs have a flavour of each country, a pinch of each encounter. Labess is Arabic for “all’s well”… And when the music is this festive and colourful, the world is better off too!
