Sold out in barely seven days, the 29th Paléo Festival Nyon was a celebration of creative innovation. An additional two hectares to the Festival site, a slightly increased audience capacity (up from 200,000 to 210,000), the creation of some new relaxation zones, the introduction of fine arts and the new print-at-home electronic ticketing service were amongst the most significant innovations and improvements at the 2004 edition. Stage side, Patti Smith, Texas, Peter Gabriel, -M-, Cali, Muse, Dionysos, Garou, The Darkness, Jamel, Eros Ramazzotti all left their mark on this year's event with some great musical moments, and this in spite of some rather capricious weather and the cancellation of David Bowie's concert. Over at the Village du Monde artists such as Lhasa and Raul Paz paid a vibrant homage to the diversity of Latin American music, the special guest at this 2004 edition.
